This paper presents speed synchronization for single inverter dual parallel (SIDP) permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives using damped least squares based on active damping control. Active damping control achieves speed synchronization by generating a compensation current based on a nonlinear cosecant function of the rotor angle difference. The proposed method uses the damped least squares (DLS) to prevent instability when the rotor angle difference becomes zero and helps maintain smooth current flow. PSIM simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
