This paper describes a method for estimating the SOC(State of Charge) of lithium-ion batteries using the Coulomb counting method. The fundamental structure and operating characteristics of the battery are described, and the modeling is performed using the Thevenin equivalent circuit. The principle and characteristics of the State Of Charge are explained, and the remaining charge capacity is estimated using the Coulomb counting method. The simulation uses MATLAB to perform the simulation in relation to various types of batteries and verifies that the estimation performance is improved regardless of the battery specifications.
