This paper presents the analysis results related to switching losses in the discontinuous pulse-width modulation (DPWM) region of
a 2-level inverter driving a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). In this paper, the arrangement of the DPWM region
considering the phase difference between voltage and current is studied. The validity of improvement in switching loss is verified
through simulation results.
