This paper presents a comparative analysis of switching losses in DPWM methods based on current and voltage angles. DPWM methods based on voltage angle exhibit limitations when applied to inductive loads such as PMSMs. The operating principle of DPWM methods based on current angles is analyzed, and switching loss reduction is compared when both methods are applied to motor drive systems. The analysis is validated through simulation.
