This paper proposes the minimum-Loss discontinuous PWM (MLDPWM) method with segmented discontinuous intervals for open-winding (OEW) PMSM drive systems. The MLDPWM method is analyzed and proposed PWM method is presented to reduce output-current THD and switching loss. Proposed method is validated through simulation results.
