Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) has development prospects in industri al drives Among various control methods Model predictive 

control ( is a significant modern control of PMSM due to its simplicity, flexible system models, and con straint conditions. However, MPC has a high 

execution time especially in multi level power converters or /and when applying higher step prediction horizons . To overcome this limitation , a 

Multilayer neural network MLNN) is proposed to emulate the MP C for the current control of PMSM. The MLNN MPC method shows a similar 

performa nce of MP C with lower computatio nal time for a higher step prediction horizon . Furthermore, the simulation results are shown to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method
