In this paper we propose a novel fast-response torque control method for permanent magnet synchronous motors. The control law

is described in rotating frame and is devised to track a given reference flux on which the reference torque is generated. The key

feature of the proposed control is that it provides a uniform torque response independent of the rotating speed and it can be tuned

to provide deadbeat performance.
