The proposed filter diagonalizes the error dynamics to make the tuning procedure more convenient through the order reduction method without any 

servo drive model information, which results in a few practical features; (a) the Luenberger observer as the first subsystem for the speed 

measurement incorporates the low-pass filter to remove the ripples of the filter output errors; (b) the first subsystem includes the specially structured 

gains for the error dynamics diagonalization; and (c) the second subsystem robustly filters the acceleration with the specially structured gains to 

complete the error dynamics diagonalization, forming the disturbance observer-like system. A prototype dynamo meter including the 500W brushless 

DC motor as the test servo drive highlights the filtering performance of the proposed solution by showing the improvement of the feedback

system performance.
